New challenge

It has been a long time since I wrote a post in my blog.

New beginning and a new challenge.

Officially full-time in BFP, getting married soon and in the process of buying a house.

All the things are being thrown at me in 2016.

One step at a time and let my Lord leads me to the correct path.

BigFatPurse Value Investing Mastery Course (VIMC)

Recently there were quite a number of friends who asked me what I do and what course does BigFatPurse conducts. Basically for now, we run a 1-day Value Investing Mastery Course (VIMC).

We teach retail investors how to invest in stocks systematically, objectively and quickly.

And no… we are NOT another how-to-invest-like-warren-buffett kind of seminar.

If you are keen to attend or to find out more, visit here:

Wait On The Lord!

Wait on the  Lord , And keep His way, And He shall exalt you to inherit the land; When the wicked are cut off, you shall see  it. I have seen the wicked in great power, And spreading himself like a native green tree. Yet he passed away, and behold, he  was  no  more; Indeed I sought him, but he could not be found.

Psalm 37:34-36 (NKJV)

To wait on the Lord is an act of faith. I may not see the results now, but I shall wait and believe in His timing and trust that He is working behind the scene.

David also added that the wicked might seem to prosper but their success will not last forever.

Wisdom From Proverbs 16:3

My pastor did mentioned before that the written word (bible) is the number one way God speaks to us. For the past 2 days consecutively, I chanced upon the same verse – Proverbs 16:3, first from mediate for success and the second occasion from youversion’s verse of the day.

Commit your works to the Lord,
And your thoughts will be established.
Proverbs 16:3 NKJV

I had previous encounters where a same verse would keep appearing to me, “smacking” me right into my face and I could resonate with it. Thus I believe it is Him who wants to speak to me and is trying to tell me something.

So, I knew I had to dig deeper and really understand what the verse is trying to bring across. On the surface, the verse looks simple just as it is – commit to Lord and thoughts be established (Duh! Simple English huh?).

But what does it really mean? Then I realized I don’t really understand “your thoughts will be established” (Ok, I confess that I am not that good with my English language)

So, I checked all the key words in the verse from Merriam Webster dictionary:

Commit = to put into charge or trust
Works = accomplished by effort, labor, perform something
Thoughts = a developed intention or plan
Establish = to bring into existence, to put into a favorable position

And here’s my revelation:

Whatever things you wish to have or struggling to perform (career, finance, health relationship etc), invite God into your situation and let Him take charge and trust Him fully. He will make your plans manifest, bringing forth into existence and you will succeed. We just need to rest upon Jesus’s finished work at the cross.

If you checked out the Amplified version, this verse will be much clearer:

Roll your works upon the Lord [commit and trust them wholly to Him; He will cause your thoughts to become agreeable to His will, and] so shall your plans be established and succeed.
Proverbs 16: 3 AMP
Yes, there are certain areas in my life right that I would like to let God be in charge. I know He will guide me continually and I believe all things will work out to be good!

Featured In

I was featured in recently. The site is the brainchild of my internet marketing friend, Dylan Loh, who wants to  highlight (little-known) young entrepreneurs in Singapore who are successful in what they do.

He believes these people have a wealth of knowledge to share and  wanted to unlock these insights so that aspiring entrepreneurs can learn from them.

The site is pretty new and I must say I am honored to be featured inside. Seriously, I don’t think I am that good or successful. Nevertheless I am happy to share my story and I hope it could be an encouragement to other young people.

Here’s the link to the interview below.

Have A Blessed Christmas!

This year’s Christmas is a lot more special to me, which is going back to the root of the celebration, the birth of Jesus Christ instead of just a “festive holiday”. Yesterday was the first service of NCC to be hosted at The STAR. Amazing place and all the glory can goes to God. Of course, I also have had good gatherings with my friends. Lots of fun, food and laughter!

Actually, year 2012 has not been really a good year for me and it was tough on me emotionally. That was nobody I could depend on until I found myself back in the arms of the Lord and I can say His timing is really perfect. He is never late, never early… just on time. 🙂

Anyway, I wish everyone of you a very blessed Christmas.

Year 2013 will be a great year!

My New Site On Trading

As mentioned in my previous post, I won’t write too much about investing or trading in this blog. Instead, I have created a new site dedicated on currency trading (forex) –

This new fx site will be the place where I post my analysis, my views and the way I trade. The site is still “work in progress” and I will be adding more stuffs in the future such as trading articles, tutorials etc (if I can really sit down and pen my thoughts – I can’t write well! LOL) Right more, it’s more focused on my analysis on different currency pairs. In a way, it’s also like a trading diary to me, helping me to keep track and re-visit some of these trades or setups in the future.

It is a “hobby” site at this point in time. I am just passionate in trading… that’s all. I really want to create a site that can provide value and knowledge to other traders, especially newbies. There are just too many hyped-up nonsensical forex products out there in the market. You know… those “Make $20, 586 in 7 days Trading Forex With This Breakthrough System”. You get the idea. 99% of them are just pure marketers, i.e. they are not traders. They are just out to sell you and scam the hell out of your money.

Trading IS tough. If it is so easy, every Tom, Dick and Harry will be making obscene money and relaxing at the beach all day long. Isn’t it?

Anyway, if you happened to read my posts in my fx site, do support it by “liking” my posts or via other social media platforms, or you could just tell your friends who are interested in trading verbally, old-school style. 🙂

New Changes Ahead

It has been quite some time since I updated my blog and a lot of things happened within the past few months. I don’t want to talk much on them though. Anyway, I have changed and revamped my blog design. I like this new Studiopress eleven40 theme. It looks much neater with a more spacious feel. The only thing I kept is the colour orange. Somehow I just like this colour for my site.

I realized most of my recent posts are about investing and trading. After some thoughts, I think I won’t focus and write too much on investment topics in the future. Not because I don’t like it, but rather I would like to keep this more like a personal blog.

I am still very active in trading. In fact, I have created a new website on currency trading. Will “open” the site to the public in time to come. I only trade currencies and commodities nowadays. Very rarely do I trade Singapore/US stocks. All my stocks that I am holding on right now are more for “buy and hold” – long term investment or value investing if you like to call it.

One good news… I am back to church and into the arm of my Lord Jesus once again. 🙂

EURGBP Breakout

A chart with short explanation shows how I anticipated a breakout. I happened to got it right and the trade went in my favor.

I don’t want to make it seems that I am always right with my trades – I was stopped out from my crude oil long position yesterday. There was a sudden plunge in price due to a rumour/speculation of a possible Strategic Petroleum Reserve release.

I am thinking of starting a new website on trading currencies. I already has the domain ready, just that I am lazy to get it going. 😛

Consecutive Failed Pin Bars

Looking at the chart below, you can see the pin bars. They are supposed to be bearish price action. But after a series of them, if price still doesn’t come down as you anticipated, it’s best to liquidate your position. Because if it’s not coming down, it means it’s going up soon! Duh.

No matter how hard the sellers try to sell, it’s not coming down. In such cases, it usually means the buyers are going to overpower the sellers soon.
